ASUU will start studying the poll to go on strike

The head of the Academic Staff Union Universities (ASUU) started an important meeting Friday night.

The meeting was at the University of Abuja, discussing about if the lecturers will advance on a nationwide strike or not.

The final conclusion on the strike will be announced at the end of the meeting on Sunday after the poll conducted by the chapters have been examined.

The conclusion to manage the poll was part of the solutions made at the National Executive Council meeting of the union held in July at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nasarawa State.


The lecturers’ major requests from the federal government that required the referendum include problems concerning the well-being of members, budget for the universities and guaranteed release of abducted of lecturers of University of Maidurugi by Boko Haram.
